Misuzu Kaneko (金子みすゞ), born April 11, 1903 in the Senzaki area of Yamaguchi Prefecture, was a Japanese poet best known for her short, lyrical poems written for and about children. Her verse is celebrated for its clarity, gentle empathy, and vivid engagement with nature and everyday life, often giving voice to small creatures and ordinary objects in a way that invites reflection and compassion.
